Mission Statement:
The Purpose of the Colorado Old Time Fiddlers' Association is to promote Texas Style Old Time Fiddling, sponsor the Colorado Rocky Mountain Fiddle Championships and publish a newsletter for the benefit of its members.
We at the Colorado Old Time Fiddlers' Association are dedicated to the preservation & perpetuation of old time fiddle music.
One of the best ways to preserve an art form is to make it public!
We have made this goal a priority by presenting the ONLY fiddle contest held in the Denver area.
Watch as our contest enters its 4th year and brings fiddlers of national championship caliber from all over the country.
All of this requires funding......which we work hard for all year long. The fiddle kids of The Denver Suzuki Strings & COTFA perform and fundraise all over the Denver metro area to finance this contest. Please contact us if you are interested in our brand of entertainment for your next function! All donations are tax deductable.
In order to perpetuate fiddling COTFA hopes to provide information regarding tutelage and education for children and parents on the fiddle. By inviting fiddle Instructors to Join COTFA and be listed on our website an educational and informational network is formed. This goal has been achieved through the instructors of the Denver Suzuki Strings program and teachers through out the Denver - metro area.
The time and encouragement the instructors provide insures the art of fiddling will continue for many generations.
Parents of these children are the founders of COTFA and have established it as a 501 (c) 3 NON PROFIT organization.
