SUMMARY:13th Annual Scottish Fiddle Competition
DESCRIPTION:2025 Scottish Fiddle Competition of Colorado \nSponsored by\nColorado Elks Association Scottish Fiddle Club of Colorado \nThe Competition is for Colorado violinists in grades 3rd to 12th in four grade categories.\nPrescribed tune sets will be performed for judges for cash prizes. \nWHEN: Saturday\, October 4\, 2025\nWHERE: Lakewood United Church of Christ\n100 Carr Street\, Lakewood\, CO 80226 (Please MapQuest this address.)\n(This is on 1st Avenue at Carr Street between Wadsworth and Garrison.) \nTIME: 8:00 to 5:00\nFiddlers will be scheduled for 10-minute performance times\, by category and on a first form-received\, first-served basis.\nThere are four grade categories (see the attached list).\nPre-registration is required. Participants must perform prescribed music and request the FREE sheet music and sound files from the Competition Director listed below. Memorization is NOT required but is strongly encouraged at least for practice. These will be solo performances\, without accompaniment. Students will perform for judges in private. This is not a public performance event\, although the music can be heard from a short distance away. \nCash prizes will be awarded (see the list below). Winning fiddlers will be announced on the evening of the Competition by email. The winning fiddlers will also be publicized. All participants will receive award or participation certificates.\nThe registration form (see attached) must be received by September 27\, 2025.
