13th Annual Scottish Fiddle Competition

2025 Scottish Fiddle Competition of Colorado

The Competition is for Colorado violinists in grades 3rd to 12th in four grade categories.
Prescribed tune sets will be performed for judges for cash prizes.

WHEN: Saturday, October 4, 2025

TIME: 8:00 to 5:00
Fiddlers will be scheduled for 10-minute performance times, by category and on a first form-received, first-served basis.
There are four grade categories (see the attached list).
Pre-registration is required. Participants must perform prescribed music and request the FREE sheet music and sound files from the Competition Director listed below. Memorization is NOT required but is strongly encouraged at least for practice. These will be solo performances, without accompaniment. Students will perform for judges in private. This is not a public performance event, although the music can be heard from a short distance away.

Cash prizes will be awarded (see the list below). Winning fiddlers will be announced on the evening of the Competition by email. The winning fiddlers will also be publicized. All participants will receive award or participation certificates.
The registration form (see attached) must be received by September 27, 2025.
