Mia Orosco

843847_4847360656005_77995292_oMia Orosco, age 22, is a multiple state and national fiddle champion. Mia grew up in Lorena, Texas and began studying classical violin at age 6. At the age of 12, Mia discovered her love for old-time fiddling and began attending contests around the state.

Through her teenage years, Mia won the Texas Junior Championship, the Colorado Junior Championship, the 2010 National Junior Championship, the 2011 Western Open Grand Championship, and the 2012 Grand National Championship, becoming the youngest female to ever do so. Mia is currently teaching classical violin and fiddle at the Central Texas String Academy, performing with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra as concertmaster, and pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at Baylor University.
