Scott Sumner 2013

2013

Scott Sumner grew up in Weiser, Idaho, home of the National Oldtime Fiddler’s contest. Although exposed to fiddling at an early age, Scott didn’t pick up a fiddle until age 17, and hasn’t looked back.
Scott graduated from Boise State University with his Bachelor degree in music. After studying music at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, Scott headed to Nashville. During his time in Nashville he toured with Tom T. Hall as his bandleader, made numerous appearances on the Grand Ole Opry, and did studio work. The native Idahoan returned home in 2000, and has been instilling his passion and knowledge of music to students since.
Currently, Scott teaches in the Kuna School District as the Middle School Orchestra / Guitar teacher. Scott also plays in several local bands.
