Every year the Colorado Fiddle Championships is planned and staffed completely by volunteers, many of whom do not play the fiddle but simply love the music. This contest is a year-around effort with monthly meetings to make note of what worked well and suggested improvements to make the contest better. COTFA is also very active in the community, coordinating with organizations to bring music to Colorado’s youth.
There are a variety of jobs to be filled, from the simplest ‘runner’ position to working the scoring table. Volunteers work one or both days of the contest and are given free entry to the grounds of the National Western Stock Show for the days they work.
