Lisa Barrett is a well known figure around the competitive fiddling scene. She spends most of her time now running Barrett Violins in Rapelje, Montana, teaching in a residence program for aspiring fiddlers, and adjudicating competitions. She has been the National Ladies Champion, the Montana State Champion, and the Nebraska State Champion. She played in hundreds of competitions nationwide before being sidelined by a hand injury. She still enjoys playing guitar in contests and concerts.
Lisa loves fiddling of all kinds, with some of her favorites being Texas Style, Western Swing, and Klezmer. She is known for her generous offering of encouragement and exploration, along with technical advice to people that she teaches, and considers herself very fortunate to have the presence of music and musicians in her life.
